Donate to our accessibility fund!

The Montreal Anarchist Bookfair Accessibility Fund began in 2010 to help make the bookfair accessible in diverse ways in recognition of the fact that there are many different kinds of barriers that prevent people from being able to take part. The accessibility fund is used to aid in better trying to overcome barriers to access for disabled people as well as other barriers to access such as colonialism and other forms of racism. The fund has been used for things such as sign language interpretation of workshops and subsidizing the cost of physically accessible rooms in the Georges-Vanier Cultural Centre.

As in the past, the accessibility fund continues to be available for sign language interpretation of workshops. This year in particular, the fund will also go toward subsidizing increased costs for rooms in the Georges-Vanier Cultural Centre as we work to make all rooms used during the weekend of the bookfair physically accessible, renting a lift in order to make the KidZone more physically accessible, and offering honorariums and covering transportation costs in order to allow for more participation of racialized people at the bookfair.

If you’re able to do so, please consider donating to the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair Accessibility Fund in order to help make the weekend more welcoming to more people, and to help support the bookfair’s ongoing efforts in counteracting systems of control like ableism, white supremacy, and capitalism.

If you have any feedback to offer regarding our accessibility fund, please contact us at any time.
